Calm pregnancy

January 18, 2008 · No Comments

I am a huge fan of using essential oils and there’s no better time to use them than when you’ve got the aches of pregnancy. This pregnancy is already hugely different from my first- I may share how later. In the meantime, here are some oils that you can use (mixed or single) to help you stay level during your pregnancy- or really, any time during your life.

Disclaimer: I am not an aromatherapist nor am I in any way trained in the use of essential oils. Always consult a professional for more information.

I’ve been blending the following oils in about a teaspoon of Sweet Almond oil (as a carrier):

Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Chamomile, Lemon, Bergamot, and Jasmine

Some oils that are not recommended during pregnancy (and honestly, it depends on your practitioner- each one has a different opinion) :

Basil, birch calamus, cassia, cinammon bark,  hyssop, Idaho tansy, lavandin, rosemary, sage, tarragon.

Besides rosemary, I’ve never even used these oils or seen them when I got to buy oils so who knows.

Be calm and pregnant!
